Apple a Day

Apple a Day - (8in x 8.75in x 6in)

The zebra teaches us the beauty in individuality. The zebra’s distinctive stripes serve as protective camouflage against predators. For the zebra’s herd members, however, the unique stripe patterns identifies each from another. The zebra stripes symbolize the ability to maintain individuality in a group setting while being supportive to those around us. In addition, these stripes are believed to aid in the integration of opposites, thus enabling us to see a deeper truth. Likewise, the saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away embodies the idea that small efforts done regularly keep ourselves in balance and health.

Hand built (coil technique) ceramic sculpture painted with encaustic (pure pigment suspended in beeswax and damar resin) paint.
